I am honored and excited that Freeway City will be a featured selection for the 2019 Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (GCUFF) which will take place September 12-20, 2019 at the Atlas Cinema in Shaker Square. The GCUFF was created to present and expose the work of emerging talents and established artists who are contributing to the cinematic legacy as well as celebrating urban culture. GCUFF showcases minority films, which reinforce positive images and dispel negative stereotypes. The film festival provides a forum for the work of diverse filmmakers to be viewed and discussed. In addition to its cinematic showcases, GCUFF nurtures its attendees in a variety of disciplines, offering panel discussions, workshops and symposiums.

Freeway City will screen on Tuesday, September 17 at 7:00pm followed by a Q&A.

Another film that I directed, Cleveland Food Stories, will also screen on Thursday, September 19th at 7:00pm at the GCUFF. It documents the food and hunger challenges facing many Cleveland residents and, more importantly, what people are doing to address the challenge. It features many east-side initiatives and will be followed by a post-film discussion moderated by co-writer and public media personality Dee Perry.
